Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act of 2007 June 7, 2007 James McDermott (D-WA) introduced H.R.2607: To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to regulate internet gambling. This seems to be a similar bill as Barney Frank"s bill and may be a revision of that bill. If passed the effective date would be January 1, 2008. Read more about these bills at the Poker Players Alliance web site click here. I encourage everyone to write or call your State Representatives asking them to support this bill. Some good reasons to support this bill are: Poker is one of the great American pastimes. Poker is a game with a predominance of skill. Poker is a source of income for charity. Billions of tax revenue is being lost. 75 percent of Americans oppose banning online poker. For more about what you can do to support this legislation visit www.pokerplayersalliance.org
